At Unilever's corporate headquarters, you can stroll through the building and experience sustainable architecture.

The building was one of the first to be developed in HafenCity. It floats like a cloud in front of the banks of the Elbe. A film encases the building, protecting it from wind and weather and at the same time ventilating the interior. Together with the neighbouring Marco Polo Tower, the building is located on an urban visual axis that leads from the town hall to the water's edge. A green roof of over 2,000 square metres crowns the building and offers it additional protection from the cold and heat. In summer, bees and other insects enjoy the green oasis. In 2009, the former Unilever building won the World Architecture Festival Award for the best office building. In 2019, Unilever gave up its headquarters in Hamburg and the building has since been operated as a co-working space by New Work SE following extensive remodelling. Since the end of 2023, the building has been owned by the Hamburg Port Authority, which is expected to use it itself from the end of 2025.

The spectacular architecture is continued in the interior. Glass walls also ensure transparency here and give an impression of the working world of the large corporation. The Artrium invites you to stroll around.
Tango dancing in front of the Elbe

In summer, the promenade in front of the building is transformed into a meeting place for tango lovers. On Sundays, Argentinean guitars are regularly played and people dance in front of the Elbe. The event is free of charge.

Hamburg's water station. Landungsbrücken

The floating dock - called the "Landungsbrücken" (landing stages) – is 700 metres long. Harbour tours and the HADAG steamers to Finkenwerder, Oevelgönne and Blankenese leave from this water "station". Impressive luxury cruisers also dock here from time to time.
