Zugvogeltage 2024 | Wer frisst und rastet da?
- Excursions & Hikes
An event organized by the Wurster Nordseeküste National Park House as part of the 16th Migratory Bird Days in the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park from 12 to 20 October 2024.
Further information on the Migratory Bird Days can be found at: www.zugvogeltage.de
Around 10 million migratory birds stop off every year in the Wadden Sea on their way between their breeding grounds in the north and their wintering grounds in the south. The reason: waders and water birds find enough food in the mudflats to replenish their energy reserves. The birds' rhythm is therefore not based on day and night, but on the tides. They feed when the water is rising and falling and sleep when the water is high.
Together with the team from the Wurster Nordseeküste National Park House, you can observe the migratory birds from various locations using binoculars and a spotting scope. Of course, you will also hear interesting information about the individual species.
Meeting point: North Sea resort Wremen
For: Adults and children from 6 years
