We usually talk about stress when we feel overwhelmed, when we have reached our limits or have already exceeded them. If we cannot find a way out, stress becomes chronic and can lead to burnout. Consequences include tension, restlessness, stomach problems, sleep disorders, but also brooding, increased anxiety or irritability.
Mindfulness can help to identify stress early on, to get out of the stress spiral and thus to find more inner peace and serenity. Instead of losing ourselves in brooding, worrying or actionism, we practice consciously perceiving the present moment and an attitude of openness and self-care. In this way, we learn to understand ourselves better and regain creative scope for action to cope with our everyday lives. This leads to greater resilience, more joy in life and deeper relaxation.
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) according to Prof. Jon Kabat-Zinn is a scientifically evaluated, internationally successful program for reducing stress. It combines concepts from modern stress research and cognitive behavioral therapy with mindfulness meditation and Hatha Yoga.
