Guest performance by the Low German Theatre Lübeck
A comedy/farce by Philip King German by Dr. Gottfried Greiffenhagen and Joachim Preen Low German by Hans-Jürgen Ott Director: Manfred Upnmoor
Pastor Bornemann's wife, the former actress Dorothea, stirs up excitement among the rural population with her unconventional ways. When her former acting colleague Uwe, who is now in the navy, pays a surprise visit, a series of turbulent complications begins: so that Dorothea and Uwe can go to the theater without being recognized, she suggests that he swap his navy uniform for one of her husband's pastor's suits. Dorothea's uncle, a senior church councilor, and Bertzbach, a colleague of her husband's, turn up unannounced. When an escaped convict tries to disguise himself with a stolen pastor's uniform, a hopeless mess of pastors ensues, in which Miss Almuth from the church council and the cheeky maid Ida get heavily involved - a big task for Inspector Preuß... This wonderfully over-the-top, fast-paced comedy of errors is one of the classics of Low German theater and promises a lively and entertaining evening.
