Führung in der Bockwindmühle
- Guided Tour
Do you actually know what a Katzenstein is and what it has to do with the oil from Wietze?
During the summer months, our mill guides will lead you through the post mill on Sundays and tell you interesting facts and little anecdotes from the miller's life in the past.
Admission is free for children and adults pay 2 to enter the exhibition.
The post mill is one of the oldest architectural monuments in the community. As an inscription in the beam of the house shows, it was built in 1732. Its location, where mills had probably been operating since the 15th century, was originally far outside the village. Wind law stipulated that the miller did not have to tolerate trees or houses near the mill that could take away the wind.
Since 2022, the Winser post mill has been a member of the interest group "Mills around the corner".
Special tours for groups are possible at any time by arrangement.
