Ewer Tour zur KZ Gedenkstätte Neunegamme
- Trips & Tours
The Vierländer Ewer, a replica of a historic inland cargo ship, will take you from Bergedorf harbor across the Dove-Elbe to search for the connections between the Neuengamme concentration camp and the Vierlande and Marschlande. Historical remains that at first glance seem inconspicuous, supplemented by reports and drawings by former prisoners, will bring the diverse economic connections between the concentration camp and the surrounding area into view, and connections between the local population and concentration camp prisoners and SS guards will also be discussed. Once you arrive at the concentration camp memorial, you will explore the grounds and exhibitions. There will be time to exchange impressions in a final discussion during the return journey.
Please note: You have to climb a steep stepladder to get off the boat in the memorial area. Please bring food and drinks with you. No wheelchair access.
