Alin Coen (Trio Show)
- Singer/Songwriter
After the brilliant performances with the 70-piece orchestra of the STÜBAphilharmonie this year, Alin Coen is finally offering her fans the opportunity to experience her live in a smaller, more intimate setting in 2024.
At the concerts, fans can look forward to Alin Coen's songs from the last few years. But one or two new songs that have not yet been released will also be included in the program. Accompanied by her long-time band members Fabian Stevens on drums and Philipp Martin on bass, she will take listeners on an emotional journey with her soulful lyrics.
Known for her unique way of bringing out inner states during the songwriting process and making them tangible for her audience through the songs, Alin Coen explains: “My specialty is heartbreak and dealing with rejection. When I write songs, I listen to the music that is being created and try to find suitable words and stories that match the feeling that the music makes me feel.”
The message in Alin Coen's music differs from the classical approach of the songwriters. “Songwriters have a different drive to write music than I do. They have a political message that they want to convey through music,” she explains. “My inspiration in music comes more from observing the inside than the outside.” Although it moves and concerns her, she does not feel the need to address political issues such as feminism in her songs.
Outside of music, Alin Coen definitely raises her voice to make others heard. That's why she's passionate about increasing the visibility of women in the pop industry. “You just have to keep remembering that women are disadvantaged by structural inequality. In my opinion, women, trans and non-binary people need to take on many more crucial positions in the music business. The idea is to support each other and offer more opportunities,” says Alin, who ensures that her team is diverse, from technicians to doctorates.
