In the course of the 75-year history of the theatre association, almost 300 plays have been performed. Plays are performed in various venues in Jenfeld and Barsbüttel: Jenfeld-Haus, KleinenTheater47, Barsbüttel Town Hall and Erich-Kästner-Gemeinschaftsschule Barsbüttel.
Theatre 47 was founded in 1947 under the name "Volksspielbühne Jenfeld von 1947 e.V." by some members of the Turn- und Sportverein von 1881 Wandsbek e.V.. A large part of the theatre work is the cultivation of the Low German language - especially often in the field of comedies. High German boulevard theatre is staged in the current season, as is the Christmas fairy tale for children, which returns every year. This results in up to four productions during a season (September to June of the coming year).
