Molotow

One of the most popular music clubs of Hamburg: At the Molotow there are not only the best concerts and Indie parties of the city taking place but also poetry slams and other special artistic events – all of that in a very unique setting.

Since 1990 the Molotov inspires fans of indie, punk, post-rock, with live concerts and brings internationally known bands on stage. Famous bands like The White Stripes, Mumford & Sons, The Hives, Mando Diao, Wir sind Helden and much more already played at the club at St. Pauli before they got commercially successful. 

Before the Molotow has found its new home at Nobistor, the club was located at the Esso-Häuser at Spielbudenplatz until December 2013. Since September 2014 the Molotow temporary shines at its new location, only until they move back to the old place, into a new building at Spielbudenplatz.  

Poetry slam, pub quiz, parties or readings

People of Hamburger especially like the club for its diverse program that differs from regular concert nights. Artists from all genres find a platform here. Also poetry slam, pub quiz, parties or readings are happening now and then. 

But the venue is more than just the club with its cool and alternative atmosphere. Also the backyard is part of it. Here people listen to music and celebrate under the blue night sky. On top of it there is the Skybar upstairs and the Karatekeller downstairs; two more unique locations for a good party night. 

Moreover, the Molotow is one of the clubs that hosts the Reeperbahn Festival every year.  In this time of the year, the Molotow is still one of the best clubs of the city where you can enjoy newcomer and noncommercial bands from all over the world. 

For the 13th time, Clubkombinat Hamburg e.V. honoured the Hanseatic city's club and event scene in eleven categories in 2023. Molotow was one of three nominated clubs to win the "Best Club of the Year 2023" award and the "Favourite Club 2023" audience award.
