The environmentally friendly alternative for everyday shopping. Wilhelmsburg's first unpackaged store offers numerous, mostly organic items, and preferably from the region.

From a wide selection of dry foods, to cosmetics, natural body care, plastic-free cleaning products and sustainable household goods. So if you forgot your toothpaste on your trip to Hamburg, are looking for a healthy snack on the go or a delicately scented soap for home, you've come to the right place.

The owner Josefina came to Hamburg from Paraguay 20 years ago. She loves her island of Wilhelmsburg, but she is bothered by the fact that many tons of plastic packaging end up in the trash in Hamburg households every day. And since there was no possibility for unpacked shopping in Wilhelmsburg before, she opened the Unpacked Island. Anyone who wants to shop sustainably and without plastic can now do so at Veringstraße 153.

CITY AREA PORTRAIT Wilhelmsburg & Veddel

The Elbe Island of Wilhelmsburg is embedded between the southern and northern Elbe. It impresses visitors with a mixture of industrial charm and bustling life with multicultural flair. With its historic buildings, cafés and shops, the Wilhelmsburg Reiherstieg area is especially popular. It is even called "Little Berlin" due to its transformation in recent years. And then there is the neighbouring island of Veddel, which also has much to offer.
