The clinker brick building, with its ship's bow at the top, is now regarded as an icon of expressionist architecture. On the spacious ground floor, you can browse through the assortment of the department store, which advertises with the slogan "There are still good things in life". Styrian pumpkin seed oil from a small fruit-growing business, mechanical tin toys from Kovab, high-quality garden tools from Friesland, the Jasper office chair made of oak or robust French linen dishtowels: All products have in common that they are elaborately and solidly made of classic materials such as metal, glass or wood and that they have what it takes to become a much-used and durable "good old piece". Touching and trying is expressly desired.
