WITTHÜS

The WITTHÜS is known far beyond the borders of Hamburg. It is idyllically situated in the Hirschpark in Blankenese, just a few steps from the Elbe in one of the largest English gardens.

From farmhouse to restaurant

The WITTHÜS (Low German for ‘white house’) is located in the Hirschpark, a large English garden, and looks back on an eventful history. It began as a farmhouse, became a cavalier's house, a country house, a tea room and finally a renowned restaurant. In its long history, it has hosted merchants, artists and philosophers.

Delicious cakes and a maritime highlight

In the afternoon, WITTHÜS serves cakes and tarts from its own bakery, which are baked according to traditional recipes without any preservatives or flavourings. The famous ‘WITTHÜS spiced bread’ is even made from organically grown grain. In addition to the seasonally changing selection of pastries, a wide range of teas and various coffee specialities are also on offer. A special highlight is the ‘jellyfish on sand’.

Excellent seasonal cuisine

From 6 p.m. onwards, the café becomes an atmospheric restaurant whose excellent cuisine conjures up international and regional, but always seasonal delights. In summer, the terrace invites you to enjoy a candlelit dinner and WITTHÜS can also be hired for private celebrations such as weddings. The WITTHÜS has rightly received a very good rating from the Michelin Guide to Gastronomy, with two cutlery awards.
