Marlin Seafood restaurant in northern Hamburg
Granted, the seafood restaurant Marlin is not exactly on the way to the numerous attractions in the city centre for most visitors to Hamburg,
but those who would like to take a little trip to northern Hamburg should definitely make a stop here. Situated in an old factory, the restaurant looks inconspicuous from the outside at first. Inside, however, turns out to be a cosy, maritime atmosphere that earns points for its particular attention to detail. Michelin-starred chef Michael Wollenberg and his crew specialise in freshly caught seafood - scaly fish as well as crustaceans and shellfish - that are prepared with international accents. The menu impresses with a broad price range, from the "affordable" (smoked eel fillet with scrambled eggs on toasted bread) to "sophisticated" (swordfish steak with wok vegetables and wasabi mashed potatoes). Those who constantly crave meat can choose something from the "Hate Fish" category.
