Lake Hohendeich (bathing area west) The bathing season runs from 13.05.2022 to 12.09.2022
Hohendeicher See is an artificially created lake that is mainly used as a camping site.
Hohendeicher See is located directly behind the Elbe dike in the Vier- und Marschlanden in the Bergedorf district. The lake was created in 1966 through the mining of clover and gravel, which was used for dike construction.
The camping site is located on the eastern shore of the lake. The two bathing places, on the other hand, are located on the western shore (small sandy beach and sunbathing lawn) and on the southern shore (large sandy beach and sunbathing lawn). In the western area the lake is intensively used by surfers.
Please note: There is no separate non-swimmer area or bathing supervision. There are also some drop-offs, especially near the shore, where the water suddenly becomes very deep.
