From Hamburg to the Sea The Hamburg Bicycle Musicians
For years you have been cycling diligently through Hamburg, not only doing the climate a favour, but also creating more space on the streets so that everyone (almost) always arrives at their destination on time. That's why Hamburg's bike musicians got on their bikes and dedicated a song to you.
The big band for Hamburg's quietest means of transport consists of Nico Suave, Tonbandgerät, Chefboss and Cäthe, who cover a broad musical spectrum from rock to dancehall to pop and rap. These diverse approaches were united by producer Sinch, a hip-hop producer great who is behind the songs of Samy Deluxe and Kool Savas, among others.
Anyone who is not yet sitting in the saddle after listening to this song must have a flat tire or be on the wrong mode of transport. With "From Hamburg to the Sea" in your ears, you can pedal to the beat and either embark on said journey or simply cruise through the city in a relaxed manner and discover Hamburg's most beautiful corners.
Because the song is so catchy, it was awarded the German Bicycle Prize 2020 in the category "Bicycle Culture". The German Bicycle Award promotes cycling with its nationwide competition and is intended to shine a spotlight on examples of good practice so that decision-makers become aware of them.
The music video for the song has now been viewed over 1.2 million times on YouTube and you can of course still listen to it on Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music and all other popular music streaming platforms. So what are you waiting for? Turn on the music, put on your helmet and let's go!
