Along the Elbe

Walk along the Elbe from HafenCity to Oevelgönne.

Experience Hamburg's highlights on the Elbe along the way. From HafenCity to the Elbphilharmonie concert hall and the Elbe beach at Ovelgönne, this route allows you to discover the many facets of the Hanseatic city up close.

The tour starts at the JUFA Hotel Hamburg in the harbour area Baakenhafen in HafenCity, from where you have an excellent view of the district and the harbour scenery. From there, the tour continues across the Marco Polo Terraces to discover some maritime highlights. Not far away is the next stop, the Elbphilharmonie concert hall. It's worth taking a free trip up to the plaza, where you can also enjoy a unique view.

The next stop can also be spotted from the top: the famous ship, the Cap San Diego. From the water, we head towards Sankt Pauli to Strand Pauli to enjoy a refreshing drink with a view. Next, the tour returns to the Elbe, from Hamburg's famous fish market to a somewhat quieter area, the Elbe beach. On the way to Ovelgönne, the Strandperle is an excellent place to stop for refreshments. The tour ends at the "Alter Schwede", Hamburg's oldest immigrant.
