The lighthouses in Hamburg radiate maritime flair and a very special attraction.
Special buildings as contemporary witnesses of shipping history: Who doesn't know them, the towers that illuminate the sea day and night and also represent maritime history and romance. You can find lighthouses in Hamburg, for example on the island of Wilhelmsburg. This small lighthouse can be climbed after a short reservation. There are also several lighthouses in Wittenbergen, Seemannshöft, Billerbeck and Tinsdal, some of which are already out of operation. Some of them can only be seen from the outside, others can be climbed.
Lighthouses in Hamburg - Very special buildings
A highlight in Hamburg are the lighthouses in Blankenese. They belong to the leading line type built between 1983 and 1984 and still in operation. The complex consists of two lighthouses: the rear light, which is about 40 metres high, and the front light, which is about 42 metres high. You can watch ships from here as well as go on an evening walk that will acquaint you better with the Hamburg shore.
