Zollkanal Canal between the city centre and UNESCO Speicherstadt
The Zollkanal, which was developed into a shipping canal at the end of the 19th century, flows along the northern edge of the Speicherstadt. The rich history and maritime character of the Hanseatic city is reflected along the Zollkanal.
The historic buildings with their red brick façades in the Speicherstadt tell of times gone by and bear witness to the importance of the port of Hamburg as a historic trading hub. The Kibbelsteg leads over the customs canal and is an excellent photo spot.
