Lotsenschoner No. 5 ELBE

In 1883, the city of Hamburg had the pilot schooner No. 5 ELBE built at the Stülckenwerft for the transfer of pilots in the Elbe estuary and the German Bight.

The oldest ship of the Hamburg Maritim Foundation is also Hamburg's oldest seagoing ship, built entirely of wood and still sailing along the Elbe. The many original details such as bilge pumps and fittings, as well as the intact historical interior, are unique today.
