From the southern slope of the vineyard on the Stintfang, you have a good view of the Landungsbrücken and the Elbe.

Hamburg wines since 1995

In the immediate vicinity of Hamburg harbour, wine has been grown here since 1995. The 50 and later 100 vines were a gift from the organizer of the Stuttgart Wine Village and produced 40 to 50 bottles of wine annually. The vines were tended by volunteer winegrowers.

And then came the underground …

In 2019, the Landungsbrücken underground station was renovated, and the vineyard had to be cleared for this purpose. Again, the rescue for Hamburg's wine came from Stuttgart; in 2022, the city of Stuttgart donated 99 vines of the "Regent" variety to the Hamburg Parliament, which are now growing and thriving at the Stintfang. They will not be ready for harvesting until 2025 at the earliest, but at least Hamburg has its only vineyard back.

Unfortunately not for sale

The "Hamburger Stintfang Cuvée" will not be sold, but only given away to selected guests of the Hamburg Parliament. In the future, however, some bottles are said to be auctioned off for a good cause.

Hamburg's water station. Landungsbrücken

The floating dock - called the "Landungsbrücken" (landing stages) – is 700 metres long. Harbour tours and the HADAG steamers to Finkenwerder, Oevelgönne and Blankenese leave from this water "station". Impressive luxury cruisers also dock here from time to time.
