The Tropenhaus Planten un Blomen offers exotic plants - in the middle of the city.
Exotic worlds in the middle of the big city - the greenhouses of the Botanic Garden of the University of Hamburg offer visitors the opportunity to delve deep into the realms of science. Divided into tropical, subtropical, cacti and ferns on an area of 2800 square metres, you can see plants from all climatic zones of the earth. The greenhouses open for the IGA in 1963 - the special feature of the supporting structure is that the interior spaces - at 13 m maximum height - are free of load-bearing elements.
Because the houses are located directly in the Planten un Blomen, you can follow your visit by a walk through the green parks.
