Nature reserve Moorgürtel Hiking in the nature reserve
The moorland belt in the southwest of Hamburg invites you to take idyllic walks in an intact cultural landscape. Enchanted paths lead past damp green meadows and fields criss-crossed by small ditches. The nature reserve is a real insider tip for hiking.
Remnants of moorland and small ponds, bushes or a small grove of birch trees appear along the edge of the path in the mostly open marshland. It is not uncommon for partridges to flutter up startled from the meadows and deer to jump out of small woods, next to which horses and sheep graze in the paddock.
