Harburg Stadtpark, which covers 21.5 hectares is located to the south of Hamburg and the Elbe, on Hohe Strasse. It surrounds the Harburg "Aussenmühlenteich" which can be walked round on a three-kilometre trail. The park was established in 1907 by the town of Harburg and the grounds were designed by Georg Hölscher from 1913 onwards. As a result of the different forms of landscape such as heath, meadows and woods that were inserted into the topography of the land accordingly, a varied park has been created that also stands out for its view of the "Aussenmühlenteich". There are also gardens, an open-air stage and numerous small sights such as the Eichenplateau, the Schillerhain and the flower gardens arranged in terraces.
