Unique Advent experience in the church nave of St. Petri zu Lübeck
During the Advent season, St. Petri offers a particularly atmospheric arts and crafts market that invites you to marvel, stroll and browse. Artists and craftsmen from Germany and the Baltic Sea region show their work in the light-flooded church room. Huge Herrnhut stars adorn the expanse of the nave. Advent songs ring out and the scent of apple punch and delicious biscuits blows over from the St. Petri Café in the church foyer.
In this pre-Christmas atmosphere, high-quality ceramics and woodwork, excellent unique pieces made of silk and wool, leather goods and art objects made of glass, copper, metal and paper are on offer. Felted fashion accessories, jewellery made of precious metals and amber, Scandinavian living accessories, Christmas tree decorations and toys are popular. A coin saw, who processes small coins from all over the world to unique pieces of jewellery, proves special skill and sense of proportion.
After a stroll we recommend a visit to the viewing platform of the church tower, which offers a magnificent view of Lübeck's Christmas-decorated UNESCO World Heritage Old Town.
