Summer in HafenCity

Free series of events in the summer months

Every year from June to August the public squares, parks and promenades in HafenCity will be open to dancing, sports and literature. The "Summer in HafenCity" events series has been in existence since 2005, transforming the district into a lively meeting place every Sunday.

The best thing about the events? Everything is free and open-air! Around HafenCity you can watch the different live choreographies of changing dance groups. If you're really into the tango, samba or swing rhythms, you can even take part in a free course. If you prefer to relax after a warm day, you can listen to young up-and-coming authors performing their works in front of the harbour scenery under the setting sun.

This year, summer can be enjoyed in the newly opened Baakenpark for the first time. The green areas of the park invite you to take part in sports: you can really get your power back from jumping fitness, while the yoga classes are more relaxed.
