Wolf

by Saa Stanii / directed by Camilla Ferraz / Young directors
Imagine your mother showing you a leaflet: A holiday camp in the middle of a forest. Actually, you like trees only as material for closets. But your mom can’t get off work, which is the reason why you find yourself with a group of youngsters and underpaid staff persons for one week in beautiful nature. A real treat, but you definitely would rather not. You are sharing your hut with Jörg who keeps to himself, since nobody likes him anyway. On the other hand, he knows a lot about plants and enjoys hiking. You have always liked a good story. One night, the moon shines through your window and you see a wolf in front of your hut. A nightmare. Jörg is snoring, you are terrified. Jörg has a problem with Marko and his gang. He’s a loser and has a lot to endure. What can you do? Should you think about taking Jörg’s side? Sometimes you get so mad. What happens then? This is your story. You say: “By the way, my name is Kemi.”
Saša Staniši’s „Before the Feast“ and „Where You Come From“ are cult classics at Thalia Gaußstraße. His new children’s book, “Wolf”, is marvellous. Situated in the middle of nowhere or, as Kryptic Joe (Deichkind) once rapped: “Nature / chockfull of coppice and crawlies / Nature / freezes your ass when you get too close / Nature / is where you are slowly going out your mind.”
Following several productions at Nachtasyl, Camilla Ferraz will complete her three years as a director’s assistant with the staging of “Wolf” in our series “Young Directors”.
