The Scots are coming!
Celtic magic and Scottish joie de vivre - that's what spectators can experience when the "Scottish Music Parade" comes to Germany. Bagpipers, drummers, musicians, singers and dancers, all from Edinburgh, Scotland, take the audience along for an evening on a rousing and varied journey through Scotland.
And no, here the men do not wear the trousers, they wear skirts - checkered and in the colors of the respective clans: kilts belong to the Scots as the bagpipes (bagpipes) and drums (drums).
In front of a castle backdrop with towers and battlements - the imitation of a Scottish castles - the artists are always presenting new facets of Scottish culture. Just the impressive sound of the bagpipes and drums bursting through the hall and seized the people in the grandstands, in the next moment soulful ballads full of longing and space provide an intoxicating silence in the hall. The participating artists are among the best that Scotland has to offer. Most of the participants regularly attend the world famous Edinburgh Tattoo. The bagpipe players and drummers include many winners of international competitions and world champions on their instruments. Even the combination of traditional bagpipe play and modern rock music succeeds when guitarists turn up their e-guitars and the entire ensemble with its traditional instruments, for example to Paul McCartney's anthem "Mull of Kintyre" and John Farnham's "You're the voice" gradually tuned in - then goosebumps are guaranteed. Esprit and exuberant festive mood exude, however, the cheerful and lively presented dances of Scotland.
In ever new formations, sumptuous costumes and costumes, the artists enter the action area and inspire each other with their tremendous enjoyment of music and dance. When the Scottish hymn "Highland Cathedral" resounds in the fog after an original cannon volley and the bagpipe players and drummers in their uniforms pull their way past the crowd, a breath of real Highland air blows through the hall!
