JazzAmen presents: The Pilgrimage
Arne Jansen - Anders Jormin - Uwe Steinmetz
New live CD

It can be described as a lucky coincidence that these three musicians have come together: guitarist Arne Jansen, bassist Anders Jormin and saxophonist Uwe Steinmetz, three luminaries of the European jazz scene. In this edition of the JazzAmen series in the Kulturkirche Altona, they present their new live CD "The Pilgrimage" with songs that move between jazz, classical music, Nordic and non-European folklore.

Arne Jansen, Anders Jormin and Uwe Steinmetz, all musical border crossers between different music cultures and genres, performed together for the first time in autumn 2016 at a festival in Gothenburg. It was immediately clear that there was a special connection between the three musicians, who were united by their love for the expressive lyrical qualities of their instruments in their joint improvisation.

Behind each piece lies a personal story that reflects the cosmopolitanism of the three musicians and inspires the shared musical narrative every evening, or as Sonny Rollins puts it: "Jazz is life".

Arne Jansen – guitar
Anders Jormin – Bass
Uwe Steinmetz – saxophone
