Stella Polaris* Ulloriarsuaq - the shining Memory of Mother Earth
- Exhibition
STELLA POLARIS ULLORIARSUAQ* is a global photo art and film project that captures illuminated icebergs and glaciers of Greenland in magical snapshots, highlighting the transience of this world due to the rapidly advancing ice melt for over 10 years.
The project team, led by renowned photographer and initiator Nomi Baumgartl, along with Sven Nieder (photographer), Yatri N. Niehaus (film director), and Laali Lyberth (Greenland coordinator), created these light paintings in November 2012 and February 2013 under extreme weather conditions using long exposure techniques.
Under the flickering northern lights, Greenlandic light ambassadors illuminated their rapidly changing homeland, forging an awareness-raising bridge between art, culture, and science.
