Stadtlandfluss. Unterwegs in Bergedorf
- Permanent Exhibition
For centuries, the Elbe, Bille and Sachsenwald have shaped the development and everyday life of the small town of Bergedorf. Together with the surrounding Vier- and Marschlanden, it now forms one of Hamburg's seven districts and is part of the Elbe metropolis. It combines village life, nature and urban settlements, is a place to live, a home and a destination for excursions - so much more than just a piece of Hamburg! The new permanent exhibition explores Bergedorf's development from a village to a big city in exciting themed rooms. What events have shaped life here, what distinguishes Bergedorf from the rest of Hamburg?
A tour of the building explains the history of the only surviving castle in all of Hamburg for locals and tourists.
