SOS - Joint Rescue Operation
- Other
In the simulated rescue operation "SOS - Joint Rescue Operation," rescue workers on water and in the air demonstrate how to work hand in hand after an accident at sea. This joint rescue exercise by the Bundeswehr, police, fire service, water police, DGzRS (German Maritime Security Service), ADAC (German Automobile Club), and THW (German Technical Relief Agency), focuses on the care and recovery of injured people from a ship following an explosion on board. Particularly impressive is the deployment of the amphibious naval helicopter "Sea Lion," the police "EC 135" helicopter, and the ADAC (German Automobile Club) Airbus helicopter "H 145." In addition, the THW's oil spill response team demonstrates how to clean up an oil slick. The THW's pyrotechnicians ensure a realistic simulation with their special effects.
