Schlagermove
- Festivals
Once a year, Hamburg celebrates the Festival of Love - the party of superlatives!
When "Hossa Hossa" sounds out of up to half a million voices on the Reeperbahn, then Schlagermove is back in the heart of Hamburg. Every year Schlager fans from all over Germany and neighboring countries celebrate the world's largest open-air hit parade. The Schlagermove is a tongue-in-cheek homage to the 1970s hit culture, with generations of people dancing, celebrating and singing along. The Schlager fans rummage through their parents' wardrobes beforehand for useful accessories, polyester shirts and flared pants, because the Schlagermove is most fun in costume - it's not called the "Carnival of the North" for nothing!
