Ripcord by David Lindsay-Abaire
- Theatre
Scotty: “No one’s going to have a heart attack.”
Abby: “It says on the card, 'heart-stopping horror'. Heart. Stopping.”
Marilyn: “I’d like to go.”
Abby: “A wonderful idea. You should go.”
Fast-paced banter characterizes this comedy centering around misanthropic Abby and bubbly, cheerful Marilyn, who are forced to share a room in a seniors’ living facility. When the two women make a bet to settle once and for all the question of who gets the bed by the window, their battle for control soon starts to spiral out of control.
Which begs the question: who is going to pull the ripcord first…?
