Giant Wadden Hike Isern Hinnerk with National Park Watt Guide: hike 5 km out into the mudflats through an extremely varied natural landscape with an experienced local wading guide. Already the first 800 m through blossoming salt meadows to the demolition edge between foreland and Lahnungsfeldern are an experience! Continue through the swamp and grass fields into the wide mudflats. Experience how the sea turns into land! We walk through areas where the water is 3 m high at high tide! Far outside, you will experience a beautiful play of light and cloud. With a little luck we will see seals on the sandbank! You will learn interesting facts about the safety in the mudflats, ebb and flow, formation of the Wadden Sea and its inhabitants.
Length of the mudflat walk about 12 km, participation from 12 years, limited number of participants, registration required (Johann P. Franzen, Tel. 0 48 34/9 84 47 66 or 01 74/6 15 24 21)! Duration: approx. 4-5 hours! Each participant receives a certificate.
You need the following hiking equipment: suitable footwear or barefoot, rainproof clothing, change things, provisions, possibly binoculars and determination book.
Weather: The constant is with us the unstable. Be prepared for intense sunlight (protect face, head and shoulders), a cool wind and rain (jacket). Please think of changing clothes and provisions (drinks). Footwear: At appropriate temperatures (from about 13 degrees and little wind) you can walk well barefoot. Otherwise in "beachies", solid linen shoes or solid, high rubber boots, especially in health problems.
