»A cool guy with a striking raspy voice,« writes the Hamburger Abendblatt about Redchild, whose artistic range is impressive: he raps, is at international hip hop events as an MC (Master of Ceremonies) and Battle Host Moderator and mood setter, writes and produces his own songs, gives workshops – and was recently on stage in Hamburg in around 400 shows in the Broadway musical »Hamilton«. He hosts the Mo’Jams in the Mojo Club in St. Pauli, which bring together the Hamburg and German hip hop scene for spontaneous sessions with a lot of freestyle each month.

Born in Berlin, Alassane Jensen aka Redchild has lived in Hamburg since his childhood and has found his form of expression here in hip hop. He says himself that he »paints pictures with language«, which he also does expertly on his debut album »Luft nach oben« (Room for Improvement). His songs are about finding his way and not giving up. Be it in German or English, freestyle on the fly or written-out songs – Redchild also eloquently makes the Elbphilharmonie a temple of hip hop!
