All facets of a cappella singing - multiple award-winning

Quintabulous and Vocoder , the two best placed in category H2 (vocal ensembles, popular music) at the last German Choir Competition in Hanover, are among the most exciting newcomers on the a cappella scene. Whether it's soulful pieces, fast-paced swing numbers or songs that switch from jazz to waltz, from chanson and rap to classical choir parody: you can expect varied arrangements and vocal brilliance.

Quintabulous (ku-in-TÄH-bju-less), founded in Bremen in 2018, is a five-part vocal ensemble that dedicates its artistic devotion to the styles of vocal jazz and pop, with a fascinating mixture of arrangements of soulful pieces and fast-paced swing numbers - and at the highest level. In June 2023, Quintabulous thrilled the jury and audience alike at the German Choir Competition and secured first prize in category H2 (vocal ensembles, popular music). In addition, the group was able to prove itself in international comparison at the Aarhus Vocal Festival 2024, where it won second prize.

The Hamburg ensemble Vocoder consists of Marie, Lena, Toni, Nico, Henning and Patrick. They met during their music studies and what began as a fun project in 2016 became serious after the first master class with the King's Singers: to bring their love of a cappella music to the outside world. Whether jazz, folk songs or rock'n'roll - they devote themselves to every genre and present the diversity of a cappella music to the world and their many fans. "We have no style" is the name of the group's witty signature song, which jumps cheerfully from jazz to waltz, from chanson and from rap to classical choir parody. Henning Wölk, Vocoder's second baritone, tailored the piece for himself and his colleagues. Their ensemble career has now been adorned with numerous concerts at home and abroad, master classes with the King's Singers, performances at festivals (SHMF) and audience and jury prizes at (inter)national competitions. In a neck-and-neck race, the sextet took second place at the last German Choir Competition in Hanover, just 0.1 points behind Quintabulous.
