QueerHistoryMonth

QueerHistoryMonth will take place in Hamburg from May 1 to 31, 2025. Various events during the festival will bring the history(ies) of Hamburg's queer community to life. Everyone is welcome!

Event

On Women's Archives Day, we provide insights into our collections on lesbian history.

Every year on May 11, German-speaking women's and lesbian archives celebrate Women's Archives Day. On this occasion, we open our doors and give you an insight into our rooms and our collection, with a special focus on lesbian history.

Past struggles and achievements are intended to inspire current action. You will therefore have the opportunity to browse through old archives and learn about projects of the Hamburg Women's and Lesbian Movement. Inspired by the archives, we will create collages and flyers with visions for a queer future in a workshop.

Our book flea market is also open for you. Perhaps you'll find a book or two for your home shelf. There are plenty of undiscovered treasures there.

There will also be plenty of opportunity to chat and get to know each other over a light snack. Come along and celebrate the history of the feminist movement with us!
