Provenance Research Day

What do we know today about the provenance of our works of art? Were they stolen from their previous Jewish owners during the National Socialist era? We have been investigating the provenance of all our sculptures, drawings and prints for a long time in order to clarify their paths into our collection and rule out such cases.

Dagmar Lott will present her work as a provenance researcher at the Ernst Barlach Haus. The focus will be on selected works and their eventful history before 1945. The guided tour is free of charge (plus museum admission), registration is not required.

The day of action was initiated by the Arbeitskreis Provenienzforschung e.V., an international association of over 300 academics.
