QueerHistoryMonth
QueerHistoryMonth (www.queerhistoryhamburg.de) will take place in Hamburg from May 1 to 31, 2025. Various events within the festival will bring the history(ies) of Hamburg's queer community to life. Everyone is welcome!

Black-and-white photographs of ten significant locations, such as Dammtor Station, the Pulverfass, and the Abaton Cinema, are redesigned with colorful elements; ten artists reinterpret the locations and create a visual bridge between the dark traces of the past and the colorful queer culture of today.
In the exhibition at the Hotel Reichshof, you can marvel at the 10 large-format original artworks from the Framespotting StreetArt project in all their glory. The accompanying texts invite you to immerse yourself in the stories – and provide exciting insights into Hamburg's queer spaces. Enjoy exploring!
A QR code on the image takes you to the history of the respective location. An app lets you learn more about the locations and their queer history.
10 queer historical sites, 10 diverse artists – together we illuminate Hamburg's queer history(ies)! The artists individually design half of the black and white photographs – reflecting their vision of a diverse, open, and tolerant society.
In a parallel street art project, 10 small reprints will be hidden in Hamburg. Learn more here: queerhistoryhamburg.de/veranstaltung/paint-it-pride-framespotting

Photographer and initiator
Paul aka Framespotting (@framespotting_hh)
PAINT IT PRIDE was initiated in March 2025 by the art project Framespotting, which uses alternative street art to invite visitors to discover Hamburg in a new way. On the occasion of Queer History Month, the event is not only an artistic statement but also an incentive to engage with the city's queer history and experience it from a new perspective.
