On Saturday, May 10, 2025, and Sunday, May 11, 2025, the Hamburg Fleet invites you to an "Open Ship" on the tugboat and icebreaker "Johannes Dalmann" at the St. Pauli Landungsbrücken from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., respectively, and will provide information about the activities of the Hamburg Fleet. The Hamburg Fleet, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA), has a multifunctional fleet of 45 vessels – ranging from workboats and survey vessels to police and fireboats, as well as 40 barges. The Hamburg Fleet also operates the pilot transfer service. One of the company's core themes from the outset has been to gradually make the city's fleet more environmentally friendly. The Hamburg fleet uses exhaust aftertreatment systems and the synthetic fuel GTL (gas-to-liquid), among other things, to significantly reduce air pollutants. In addition, new drive concepts ensure that CO2 emissions are reduced. Hybrid vehicles are already being used today, and fully electric vehicles will also be used in the future.
