The scheduled trips take place under expert guidance.
The formation of the moor and the unique, moor-typical flora (sundew, cotton grass, peat mosses) as well as the animal world in the air and on the ground are presented.
Other topics include the development of village peat mining, commercial peat extraction, remooring, the importance of nature conservation using the example of Tister Bauernmoor and the Burgsittensen Moor Railway.
The total length of the route in the Tister Bauernmoor is approximately 4 kilometers.
The tour starts at the train station at the cafe in the “Haus der Natur”. There is also a large car park here.
After about 200 m, the track branches off into the area not accessible to pedestrians until it stops at the observation platform and the observation tower.
There is a stopover here. Afterwards the journey continues directly back to the station.
The journey takes about 1 1/2 hours.
