KI in der Musik

Art and music are said to be profoundly human, being imaginatively creative as perhaps the most human trait of all. What happens to this creativity in the age of artificial intelligence? The use of AI raises many questions which three artists discuss on the platform of the Hamburg International Music Festival.

In keeping with the theme, if you ask an AI tool, in this case ChatGPT, for a list of questions regarding its use in art and music, it answers immediately. It is about authenticity, ethics, copyright and the relationship between the creator and assistance – who creates what here, who owns the output and what new genres might emerge here?

Eva Reiter, Brigitta Muntendorf and Alexander Schubert compose using artificial intelligence and, in their works as in the panel discussion, sound out the interplay between the enormous potentials of these rapidly developing technologies and their limits.

Please note: the panel discussion is only open to ticket holders of the following events:

Brigitta Muntendorf: »Orbit – A War Series«, 17 May 2025

Zubin Kang: »Cyborg Pianist«, 16 May 2025

Alexander Schubert & Decoder Ensemble: »Future Recognition«, 18 May 2025
