When Ilgen-Nur’s solo EP »No Emotions« was released in 2017, the young songwriter quickly became the talk of the town. Her slacker sound at the time was hailed as the new cool in German indie pop, followed by a European tour and supports for Bloc Party’s Kele Okereke and Tocotronic. For Ilgen, a dream came true that she had dreamt of since childhood: to take to the stage with her own songs! It happened pretty quickly back then, and despite all the euphoria, this time passed by the musician, who was born near Stuttgart in 1996, so intoxicatingly that she sometimes had to make sure that she wasn’t perhaps just dreaming it all. She won music awards, was invited to do features and her songs were used for successful Netflix productions. In 2024, her new album ‘It’s all happening’ was released, recorded in Los Angeles, more mature, more multi-layered. The critics reacted enthusiastically. In Los Angeles, she was surrounded by a sound that had accompanied her since her teenage years and which she now absorbed, felt and internalised much more intensely in its places of origin: Joni Mitchell, Karen Dalton, Neil Young, Carol King, Rodriguez. Ilgen-Nur has now announced two special concerts in Hamburg and Berlin: Intimate, acoustic concert evenings in places made for her sound.
