High German Christmas fairy tale
A family play based on Oscar Wilde by Christa Margret Rieken Directed by Kathrin Lenk
Hubert, the Canterville Ghost, has haunted his ancestors' castle for centuries. But that changes when the newly rich Meier family buys the property, and they have no intention of vacating their new home because of rattling chains and recurring bloodstains on the floor. Hubert has to accept that his methods are hopelessly outdated and fears losing his authorization to haunt and being sent to eternal nothingness by the Great Spirit. The bright Lilly Meier, the family's daughter, befriends him and stands by him in the tricky situation. Undaunted, she calls on the Great Spirit to give Hubert a second chance and to let him pass a test of courage: the only problem is that Hubert has to pass it...
