Wesselburen - or Wislingheburen, as it was originally called in the past - was founded more than a thousand years ago (at the time of the Vikings) as a free peasant republic. In the middle of the Nordermarsch, the spot developed into a lively and lively artisan and trading place.
From the time when Wesselburen still consisted of two inhabited tusks, from the loss of freedom, the beginning of the change of faith, fateful fire and reconstruction of the church, to the upcoming community at the turn of the century with awarding the city rights and the construction of the "Bessel" Wesselburener the stories behind the story, lovingly and entertainingly told.
On the one-and-a-half-hour walk through the exciting history of the place, participants will be granted a look into the former Villa Asmuss ("Schlösschen")!
Guests and locals are welcome! Meeting point is at the Tourist Information, Altes Rathaus, Am Markt 5 in Wesselburen.
