This mushroom hike takes you through the forests of the Südheide, just a few hundred meters from the Heidschnuckenweg. Under the expert guidance of Gabriele Link, nature and landscape guide, you will learn about local mushroom species. The delicious edible mushrooms that appear on the side of the path, in the sparse forest and damp moss or under old beech and oak trees go into the collection basket. After about 2.5 hours (5 km) of wandering through the forest, we return to the starting point, the Landhotel Helms.
The edible mushrooms are prepared for the kitchen and then processed by chef Alexander Helms. In a cozy atmosphere you can enjoy a two-course menu, garnished with all sorts of tips on preparing and processing mushrooms.

Please bring sturdy shoes, a collection basket (not a plastic bag) and a small knife (folding knife) for the exciting tour through the forest.
Note: The hike starts and ends at the Landhotel Helms parking lot. It is recommended to travel by car, as there is still a short distance, approx. 4 km, to Kohlenbach that needs to be covered by car. If you arrive by bus, CeBus line 200 from Celle Schlossplatz, a ride will be possible. There are enough parking spaces at the Landhotel Helms.
