Führung "Michel, Stadthöfe & Rathaus" - Weihnachts-Special
- City Walks
In Hamburg, you encounter history, stories, and secrets every few meters. We want to tell stories and reveal (dark) secrets.
Note: This Christmas special combines three Christmas markets, one of which we'll visit as part of the tour (Marché de Noël). Before our tour, please visit the St. Michaelis Christmas Market (only November 29 - December 1); the historic Christmas market in front of the town hall concludes the tour (a shared drink is included).*
We begin our journey at St. Michael's Church (at the Luther Monument to the left of the main entrance), take a look at and into the Krameramtsstuben (Crown's Office), and pass a shining lucky charm along the way. At the Stadthöfe (City Courtyards), dark history and the shining present collide. And the Town Hall, inaugurated only in 1897, will be our fitting final stop.*
- What special significance does October 19 have for St. Michel?
- What secret does the grille on the church ceiling hold?
- What connects the Gängeviertel with a Hamburg original?
- What dark secret lies hidden in the city courtyards?
…and what does the town hall fountain have to do with air conditioning?
You'll find out. This and much more.
Note: This tour normally includes the nave of St. Michael's Church and the Town Hall vestibule (not any other interior rooms of the Town Hall). However, we cannot guarantee access, as any closures are not our responsibility.
* = A visit to the Christmas Market with a hot drink is included (not included in the price). An overview of Hamburg's Christmas markets can be found at hamburg-lotse.de
