John Watts, the founder and frontman of the British band Fischer-Z, is celebrated for his unique career in the music scene. After training as a clinical psychologist in the 1970s, where he was confronted with challenging behaviour, he found his way to pop music. Fischer-Z rose to fame in the 1980s, particularly with the album »Red Skies Over Paradise«, which sold 30,000 copies a week in Germany.

After a period of exhaustion and a brief solo career, Watts returned and revitalised Fischer-Z. Today he combines his activities as a band member and solo artist. His latest album »Triptych« marks a turning point in his career and reflects both personal and industry-specific changes.

Fischer-Z is recognised as one of the most relevant post-punk bands in Europe, known for their blend of punk, poetry and social criticism. On the upcoming tour, the band will perform their greatest hits as well as new songs. Watts’ direct way of communicating his thoughts has earned him a loyal fan base and makes his performances a unique experience.
