exhition Call of Sands
  • Exhibition

© Günther Bachmann

Twenty photographs on the subject of “sand” as the world's most exploited natural resource. Sand theft and sand mafia have become common terms. Unfortunately. However, the pictures in the exhibition do not indict by showing losses and destruction. Rather, they are concerned with the aesthetic delicacy and the peculiar beauty of the sand on the North Sea coast. Each picture is accompanied by a short text that draws attention to ecology and sustainability and, of course, also addresses the problems.

The exhibition calls for donations to Conservation International, a non-governmental organization that protects nature, biodiversity and people in around 70 countries around the equator. The photos were taken by Günther Bachmann, who worked in German sustainability policy for a long time.
