Das Kinderwahlbüro 2025
- Stage Art & Theatre
There are state elections in Hamburg in March and federal elections at the end of February. We are opening the CHILDREN'S ELECTION OFFICE for this double election so that young people can take part in the elections. Because we want young people to be able to contribute their opinions and demands to the election campaign.
How would the election results change if children were allowed to vote? How would the election campaign have to change if children were to be addressed and informed? What kind of politics do children and young people want? The CHILDREN'S ELECTION OFFICE 2025 institution is intended to find the answers to these questions.
At the KWB there is the opportunity to get information, discuss children's voting rights, give mayoral speeches, develop political demands and vote.
The CHILDREN'S ELECTION OFFICE 2025 is being designed together with students from 7th and 8th grade at the Wichern School. The project is supported by students from the "Reclaiming TikTok" seminar in the Communication Design/Time-Related Media degree program at the HAW Hamburg under the direction of Prof. Katharina Duve (funded by the Claussen-Simon Foundation). Students and pupils are working together to create videos that will be shown both in the CHILDREN'S ELECTION OFFICE and on TikTok.
And of course there will be an election party with pie charts for the federal election on February 23 and the state election on March 2.
